Iran stage play honors Tehran terror victims

Following terrorist attacks on Iran parliament and mausoleum of Imam Khomeini in Tehran, director of Iranian play ‘Simple Pieces’ dedicates his theater work to the martyrs of the tragic event.

Seyyed Ali Hashemi devoted the performance on June 7 to the martyrs in solidarity with the country’s artists who reacted to the recent heinous acts of terror in Iran capital city of Tehran..

In tribute to the holy nights known as the Laylat al-Qadr (Night of Power/Decree), staging of the play will be halted from June 13. In Iran, a series of nights falling on 19th, 21th and 23th of the holy month of Ramadan is commemorated as the Laylat al-Qadr--the occasion when the holy Quran was revealed to the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad (PBUH).

Notable among the play's cast are Sima Tirandaz, Elham Shakib, Kaveh Khodashenas, Elnaz Shahroudi, Haleh Gorji, Reza Sakhaei, and Shokoufeh Hashemian.

On Wednesday, Iran celebrities and personalities shared posts on social media about the terror attacks in Tehran, mostly using the hashtags “We Are Together” and “Pray For Tehran.”
